My Bio

How do I begin? I graduated from Newton County High School in 1996. My class was the first class to graduate from the newly constructed high school building in Decatur. We had begun county wide consolidation back when I was starting 7th grade. So I spent 7th grade at the old Hickory High School building in Hickory, 8th grade at the old Boler Middle School in Decatur, 9th-11th grades at the old Decatur High School in Decatur, and finally 12th grade at the brand new Newton County High School just outside of Decatur on Highway 503. Talk about many years of adjusting and transitions! Anyhow, if there is ANYONE out there from the Newton County High School - Decatur, Mississippi class of 1996, please contact me! I'd love to hear from you!

I enrolled at Mississippi State University's (MSU) College of Forest Resources in the fall of 1996. McArthur Hall, the old althete's dormatory, was reopened just for the fall of 1996 freshman class. We were a record freshman class, and they had nowhere to put us all! McArthur Hall had been closed and vacant for many years, and after our first year there, it was shut down again, only to be renovated and reopened years later as an office building. Anyway, I lived on the 4th floor. My first roommate at MSU was Robert Mittelbronn ("Bob"). We had met at a summer orientation session there on campus. We were both starting out in forestry, so we decided to be roommates, especially since neither of us really knew anyone else there anyway. Bob was from Louisiana - Mandeville I think, not too sure. Bob stayed at MSU until the end of our sophomore year (end of spring 1998) I think, I just can't remember anymore. Anyway, Robert Mittelbronn, I'd like to hear from you pal, I know you are in the Marines now, but I have no idea how to get in contact with you. Please email me or something man!

My roommate after Bob was Larry Don Seale ("Don"). Don is my best bud in the world. We got along great. This was after the move to Evans Hall when McArthur Hall was permanently closed to students in the start of the fall semester of 1997. Later, after the spring of 1999, Don moved out to an apartment and I decided to get a private room in Evans Hall. I graduated from MSU on December 15, 2000 with a BS degree in Forestry with the Forest Management emphasis.

I met my wife Emily in the fall of 1998 after a long and tiresome summer camp at MSU. We always got along and I think we were a terrific match from day one. She was still in high school when we first met, and we continued dating while she went to Meridian Community College and I continued at MSU. We dated until we were married on June 16th, 2001. She graduated from MSU Meridian campus in May of 2004 with a BS degree in Elementary Education. I love her to death and time passes quickly while we are together.

MSU has played a major part in both of our lives. I miss the times and friends that I had there. It was a wonderful 4 ½ years!

Do you know any of these people, or ARE you one of these people? I'd love to hear from any of my MSU friends, here are only a few by name:

That's only a few of you. If you know me, get in touch with me!

I work with my dad, also a Mississippi Registered Forester, at Dean Forestry Services. I started there before I even finished college.

Emily received her MS degree in Elementary Education in December of 2007 from MSU. She is teaching 3rd grade at Newton County Elementary.

Our first child, Kara Celeste, was born June 2, 2009 at 4:51 PM at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. She weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long. She was delivered via c-section at 37 weeks. Kara is the joy of our lives!

So, why the name "snakeyez.com"?

Well, due to an eye injury I had while attending forestry summer camp at MSU in 1998, I had to wear an eye patch for a short period of time. My friends that were with me when the injury occurred (Michael J. and Eddie A. where are you now?) joked and said that a snake had bit me in the eye (don't know where that story came from) and the nickname "Snake Eyes" came out. Snake Eyes is one of the most famous G.I. Joe characters from my generation of childhood toys. No one really called me Snake Eyes after the eye patch came off, but the name stuck with me for all my online purposes. The spelling (or misspelling) of Snake Eyes to sNaKeYeZ was purely my design.

Who is the host and registrar for this site and domain?

The domain for this site was registered originally through GoDaddy.com on 2/27/2004. They have really good deals on domain name registration, as well as excellent domain name management. It appears to be easy to access & change domain name servers.

The web host is Surpasshosting.com. The storage, bandwidth, and all the other great little things were just too good to pass up for the price. So on 1/11/2006 I moved this site over to them.

The web host for this domain originally was cclHosting.com. Their prices & what you get for the price seemed inviting, so I'm used them from 2/27/2004 until 1/11/2006. They are still a good hosting provider, but I saw that I could get more for my money.
